Overview
The BTD-200 Direction Finder allows the BTD-200 sensor to report the direction of lightning flashes in addition to their distance from the sensor. The location of lightning flashes is shown on the Lightning Works software map display as a series of dots which fade with time. The Direction Finder thus allows the BTD-200 system to provide a clear picture of the track of thunderstorms in the area.

Technical Description
The BTD-200 Direction Finder connects directly to the BTD-200 and allows lightning discharges to be reported with both range and direction. The Direction Finder is housed in a small non-metallic enclosure at the end of a mounting arm allowing it to be installed below the BTD-200 on the same pole.
The BTD-200 Lightning Works software automatically detects the presence of the Direction Finder and adjust the map display to show the octant in which the lightning flash occurred as well as a dot to show the precise location.
The Direction Finder kit includes the direction finder, mounting arm and clamp, pre-installed cable ready for connection to the BTD-200 and a comprehensive installation manual.
